For the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student run TV station, better known as WMCM TV, I was required to create content and host Sports Talk Live. For the show, I created a rundown of talking points and helped in the pre production process of the show by setting up times for topics and discussion points. As a host on a live television production, I had to steer the conversation of my two guest speakers to fit within our timeframes, and help create an organic discussion about various topics from the sporting world. In TV, there are a lot of moving parts that you are not always in control of and adjustments that need to be made on the fly. The show was very successful and was hailed as one of the better productions of the semester, and best displays an ability to work under pressure.
In addition to being a host on WMCM productions, I am often utilized as an on air talent. These shows give me an opportunity to showcase my knowledge and sports accumen, as well as let my personality shine through. These shows also give me an opportunity to create a dialogue on specific topics and have conversations about sports topics that make for interesting programing.
These experienes have greatly increased my ability to media write for live TV, as well as improve my skills in show production.
